Uganda’s Museveni Arrives In Kenya For Two-Day Visit

President Uhuru Kenyatta receives counterpart Yoweri Kaguta Museveni at Moi International Airport in Mombasa

President Yoweri Museveni of Uganda has arrived in Kenya, from South Africa, in the latest leg of his travels that are related to his fallout with the Government of Rwanda.

Museveni was received by President Kenyatta around 10am (Rwandan time) at the Moi International Airport in Mombasa.

Kenya’s State House said, “President Museveni is in the Coastal City of Mombasa for a Two-day State Visit to Kenya”.

Museveni is from South Africa for another two-day visit.

The visit to Kenya follows that of President Kenyatta to Rwanda on March 11, during which he also addressed Rwanda’s National Leadership Retreat. (READ: Kenya’s President Kenyatta: Rwanda No longer a Country on its “Knees”)

The same day, he traveled to Uganda, in what was seen as a regional mediation effort for the current Rwanda-Uganda political crisis.
No details have been provided by Kenyan government on the visit of Museveni.

It is clear however, that there is intense continental and regional maneuvering that is going on behind the scenes to diffuse the Kigali-Kampala troubles.
