President Kagame is back into domestic politics after a whirlwind experience of handling bigger matters while at the helm of the continental’s largest body, the African Union.
Kagame twitted earlier on Monday that, “It was an honor to serve the people and leaders of Africa as chair of our African Union.
He thanked the AU Commission team led by its President, Moussa Faki Mahamat, and expressed deeply how they have his “enduring respect.”
President Kagame, who handed over the leadership baton to Egypt’s Sisi, congratulated the new chair, whom he calls a brother, and told him that he has his “full support” as he takes the Union to “greater heights.”
“Africa is moving even faster towards fulfilling the aspirations of our citizens. The progress we have made together toward #TheAfricaWeWant is irreversible,” Kagame said.
