Court in Rwanda Summons Singer Meddy Based in U.S

Rwandan singer Meddy (real names Ngabo Medard Jobert) has been ordered to appear in person at the Commercial Court here in Kigali over a $10,000 (Rwf 8.9m) debt.

A music promotions company KAGI Rwanda Ltd filed a case with the court accusing the U.S based singer of betrayal for failing to appear at a planned concert in Belgium back in 2018. The firm paid him advance.

According to a court summon issued on March 4 by Commercial Court Registrar Justin Mukamana, Meddy, in person or his representative, must appear on March 14 at 8am.

In Early January, the “Slowly” hitmaker and various other major singles, made a flamboyant return with a young Ethiopian lady Mimi Mehfira he presented as his girlfriend at various hugely attended public events.

Meddy lives in the US state of Texas.

Local media is full of this debt story about the singer, who is yet to make any statement on the issue.
