10yr-old Daughter Of BK Group Chairman Gives Rwf53m To Orphanage

Ava Holtzman, the 10yr old daughter of Mac Holtzman has offered a cheque of $60,000 (Rwf54m) to Ubumwe Community Center – a support center for orphans and children living with disability.

Mac Holtzman is the Board Chairman of BK Group Plc, a large conglomerate that was originally only a bank, but now comprises of Bank of Kigali Ltd, BK General Insurance, BK TecHouse and BK Capital Ltd.

Holtzman was in Bugesera district yesterday to deliver the cheque on behalf his daughter to The Point Foundation which supports the Ubumwe center.

Ava Holtzman reportedly came to Rwanda with her parents in 2009, when she was 18 months. They visited an orphanage commonly know locally as “Kwa Gasimba” here in Kigali. The family returned again in 2014.

The offer from young Ava Holtzman will cover schooling and other needs for dozens of children.
