Andre Cassa Mbungo could be on the way to giving Kenyan side FC Leopard their dream

Former Police FC and AS Kigali head coach Andre Cassa Mbungo on Saturday extended his contract with FC Leopard of Kenya until June 2021, the club confirmed.

In Twitter post, FC Leopard said that management has confidence in his ability to deliver better results with the team in coming seasons.

AFC Leopards appointed the Rwandan Andre Cassa Mbungo as new head coach three months ago to replace Marko Vasilejevic, who resigned after Leopards’ 4-1 stomping by Bandari FC in the Kenyan Premier League – which was too much for the team’s faithful to bear.

Since last season, it has been tough for Leopard’s fans to take the constant beatings and the team has been hiring and firing managers in an attempt to find the right remedy to get Leopards back to winning ways which Mbungo has tried doing this season.

Leopards turned to the experienced 51year-old, who holds a CAF A coaching badge, to restore the Leopard’s long lost glory.

The seasoned coach had handled Rwanda’s Police FC, AS Kigali, Sunrise and Kiyovu Sports in 2017.

Former coach Kavazovic officially ditched Leopards and followed ex-Gor Mahia coach Dylan Kerr to South Africa, joining Free State Stars.

Kavazovic took charge of FC Leopards after he replaced Argentine Rodolfo Zapata about a month back.

With 30 matches played so far in the Kenyan league, Mbungo has pushed the Leopards side to 10th position, a move that is likely to see them climb further before the season curtains come to a close.
