Tanzanian satellite TV provider AZAM has called it quits after talks with Rwanda football governing body FERWAFA failed.
AZAM has been the official sponsor of the Rwanda Premier League since 2015 with an investment of $2.5m. However, following arrival of new leadership at FERWAFA last year, which had denounced the deal as unfair, things fell apart.

AZAM last month announced that if by August 29 no new understanding is reached, it would stop the sponsorship.
The multichannel provider sent a letter to FERWAFA on Thursday reaffirming that since talks had failed, the deal, which was due to end next year, is off the table with immediate effect.
FERWAFA has to find a new sponsor or the clubs will have to fend for themselves to keep the league going.
