Excella Produce Ltd, a perishable goods exporter is on the spot after getting orders from the UK, which were paid for but never delivered.
An affected client contacted The Chronicles, providing documentary trail showing they had paid for hot pepper. But that Excella officials had since blocked them on phone and WhatsApp.
This particular firm ATD Global, a fruit and vegetables importer in the UK, paid $3,847.34 (Rwf 3.8m) to Kazungu Isugi Marie Chantal of Excella Produce Ltd. The payment was effected on August 25.
“We also paid for cargo space on [RwandAir]. Unfortunately, for over three months, we have never received any pepper,” says ATD Global in complaint filed with an industry partner in Kigali.
In particular, ATD Global adds: “Ms Marie Chantal Isugi-Kasungu promised to refund our monies but this has never happened, and as well she blocked us on WhatsApp.”
The Chronicles put the allegations to Ms Chantal Kazungu, the person accused. She did not deny the case, but added that we wait for “the in charge” who is on leave to return in a week’s time to speak to us.
